Speech therapy services in Montreal

Adapted to every stage of life, the speech therapy services at Clinique Passage combine comprehensive evaluations and personalized therapy. Our speech-language pathologists in Montreal work with a strengths-based approach centred on each client, not solely on their difficulties.

Speech therapy for children and teens

From early childhood, some children present difficulties making themselves understood, imitating the right sounds and expressing themselves in complete sentences. Our speech-language pathologists intervene with targeted, motivating activities to stimulate oral language. For school-age children, intervention also addresses reading, writing and classroom comprehension.

Language disorder and speech sound disorder

Children who have difficulty developing language and speech may present a disorder that persists over time. A speech-language assessment determines whether a language disorder or speech sound disorder is present and establishes intervention goals.

Support for teens

In adolescence, the challenges shift. Reading, writing, idea organization and social skills become priorities. Our speech-language pathologists adapt their interventions to target the academic demands of high school and prepare the transition to CEGEP or the workforce.

Speech therapy for adults

Improving professional communication, regaining speech after a stroke, supporting word retrieval for a person living with Alzheimer's or building confidence in public speaking: our speech-language pathologists support adults through these journeys. Voice rehabilitation, persistent stuttering and acquired language difficulties are among the services offered at our Montreal clinic.

Specialized speech therapy services in Montreal

Autism spectrum disorder (ASD)

Our team supports autistic individuals of all ages with tailored strategies to foster expression, comprehension and social interaction. Every form of communication counts: words, gestures, drawings, visual supports and augmentative and alternative communication (AAC). Each person communicates in their own way, and our role is to support that voice, not replace it.

Stuttering and cluttering

Sound repetitions, prolongations, blocks: stuttering affects far more than speech. It affects confidence, relationships and daily life. Our speech-language pathologists specialize in fluency disorders. Cluttering, irregular rhythm and discourse organization are also part of our interventions in Montreal and through telepractice.

Dyslexia and dysorthographia

Difficulty reading, letter reversals, persistent spelling errors: dyslexia and dysorthographia affect academic progress and the confidence of children and teens. Our speech-language pathologists assess reading and writing skills to identify specific difficulties and propose targeted intervention goals. Speech-language support can also focus on developing compensatory strategies.

Your speech therapy clinic in Montreal

Our speech therapy clinic welcomes Montreal families in a warm, professional space. Daytime, evening and weekend appointments accommodate busy family schedules.

Institutional and educational services

Clinique Passage partners with daycares (CPEs), schools and school service centres to provide institutional speech therapy services. Working within educational settings allows intervention directly in the child’s everyday environment, where communication challenges present themselves concretely. Culturally adapted support is also offered to Indigenous communities, including First Nations and Inuit.

Telepractice: online speech therapy services in Québec

Accessing quality speech therapy without travelling is possible through telepractice. Each virtual session uses a secure platform where the speech-language pathologist shares visual materials and guides parents in real time. Families in remote regions, individuals with limited mobility or parents who prefer appointments from home: this service reaches clients across Québec.

Why choose a private speech-language pathologist in Montreal

Finding the right private speech-language pathologist for your family deserves careful thought. Several elements distinguish Clinique Passage.

Bilingual French-English speech-language pathologist

Looking for a bilingual speech-language pathologist? Our speech-language pathologists offer services in French and English for all Montreal families. Evaluating and intervening in the client's dominant language improves therapeutic effectiveness. This linguistic flexibility particularly benefits multilingual families and children exposed to multiple languages at home.

Flexible hours: evenings and weekends

Evening and weekend appointments for working parents. Balancing professional obligations and healthcare does not have to be complicated. Our speech therapy clinic in Montreal adapts its schedule to the realities of families.

Support for Indigenous communities

Culturally relevant support for Indigenous communities in Québec extends to daycares, schools and health centres of First Nations and Inuit. When needed, our speech-language pathologists help families navigate Jordan's Principle and the Inuit Child First Initiative to access available funding.

A human, authentic approach

You are not just a file to us. Every voice is unique, and we are here to make it heard. Our philosophy values authenticity, creativity and accessibility in every speech therapy intervention.

Our Approach

Our team of speech-language pathologists in Montreal

Made up of experienced, passionate speech-language pathologists, the speech-language pathologists at Clinique Passage are members of the OOAQ. The founder, Anny Dubé, M.Sc., speech-language pathologist, created the clinic to make speech therapy services accessible where they are scarce, notably in Abitibi-Témiscamingue and in Indigenous communities.

As speech therapy services are also scarce in Montreal and many people remain on speech therapy wait lists, Clinique Passage expanded to Montreal in 2023. Our professionals share a strengths-based approach rooted in authenticity, creativity and human connection. Services are available in French and English.

Frequently asked questions about speech therapy in Montreal

If your child has difficulty with speech sounds, vocabulary, sentence formation, reading or socialization, a speech-language assessment determines the type of difficulties and indicates how to help the child progress. Sometimes, challenging behaviours signal a language development issue. We offer free calls to discuss your concerns.

Our rate is $165/50 minutes. Speech therapy is a non-taxable health service, and many insurance plans partially or fully reimburse fees. For stuttering, funding programs exist through the Association des jeunes bègues du Québec (AJBQ) and the Association bégaiement communication (ABC). Some Indigenous families may obtain financial support through Jordan’s Principle.

Significant progress generally appears after 6 to 12 regular speech therapy sessions. We develop a personalized intervention plan with clear goals. The number of sessions varies according to individual progress. We adjust follow-up based on evidence-based practice and your priorities.

Yes. Telepractice delivers the same clinical outcomes as in-person sessions for the majority of clients. Our secure platform allows screen sharing, interactive materials and active parent participation. This format is suitable for children from age 3 accompanied by an adult, teens and adults.
